As we think of the return from battle of the small army of Abram, we see them hungry and thirsty. I suppose that at that moment, bread and wine were more important than love, joy, or peace. EL ELYON'S priority gave the temporal realm top place over the spiritual realm, in this case.
Bringing the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST to a starving East Indian with a bloated belly really won't accomplish much, because the person will not have presence of mind enough to respond. So there are special cases where ministry to the physical realm is more important or at least more urgent than is ministry to the soul or the spirit.
Notice also, that Abram gave tithes of the spoil of the battle to Melchisedec. Spoils of battle are definitely in the temporal earthly realm. EL ELYON is the name/nature of the God over physical things.
Asaph confirmed the physical idea when he said: Psalm 50:14, Offer unto ELOHIM (God) thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto ELYON (the Most High): (KJV)
Vows are usually physical, especially those vows that are paid.
Notice that on earth, Melchisedec manifested the attributes of EL ELYON, the Most High God, in the Old Testament. And in the New Testament, JESUS CHRIST was the manifestation of EL ELYON.
JESUS and Melchisedec met people in distress with: 1. Love, 2. Light, 3. Forgiveness, 4. Mercy, and 5. Life.
YAHWEH OR EL ELYON? At the risk of oversimplifying, I divide all of our society into two camps, “YAHWEH type” and “EL ELYON type.” As I listen to people, I try to find if that person is more prone to bend people, and mold them, in order to force them to keep a set of rules or laws. I think of that person as a "YAHWEH type." Policemen, judges, military people, tax collectors, priests, bishops, popes, bosses, overseers, and some government employees, must be more supportive of the law (regulations) than they can be supportive of the needs of an individual person. Personally, that type of thinking goes against my grain. But I really do recognize the need for lawful order.
As I listen to people, I try to find out if that person is more prone to bend the law, a little, in order to meet the needs of an individual person. If they do, I think of that person as an "EL ELYON type."
If you have a pastor who is inclined to get out his denominational rule book in order to settle a problem, I would call him a "YAHWEH type." For instance, when a young couple asks a preacher to perform the marriage ceremony, and the preacher asks a lot of personal questions to find out if the couple does qualify to be married in his church (or denomination), or not, then I think of him a "YAHWEH type."
On the other hand, if the preacher seems to be more interested in the future of the couple, and in their desire to accomplish details of the wedding, then I tend to think of that preacher an "EL ELYON type.”
TRADITION I suppose I will always remember parts of the stage play, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. When the old Jewish father, Tevea, said, "If I bend any more I'll break," it was like a religious experience for me. As the old man yielded to change in order to meet the needs of his family you could see him being led into being an "EL ELYON type." But when he had enough, when he could bend no more, his "YAHWEH type" traditions overwhelmed him. My soul was saddened, like his, as I watched him trade happiness for tradition (law).
We might conclude that tradition (law), which is the manifestation of the name/nature of YAHWEH, brings security. Love (the willingness to accept others as they are), which is the manifestation of the name/nature of EL ELYON, brings happiness.
It is sad to learn that security and happiness are often in conflict.
YAHWEH OR EL ELYON? CONFLICT IN THE GODHEAD? A logical question develops. Is there conflict in the Godhead? We should ask ourselves, is there ever a time when there is conflict within ourselves?
My own answer is -- yes, of course. Reverend Ebaugh is often in conflict with the very same man whose name is Dad. The responsibilities of Rev. Ebaugh are not the responsibilities of Dad, and sad to say, my children have reported, that on occasion, they get the short end of the stick. And, I have noticed that, on occasion, people who need and request my ministry do sometimes become jealous of the time I devote to my family.
As a total man, I must weigh the desires of Reverend Ebaugh to perform ministry to the world, against the weight of the responsibility of Dad (Ebaugh) to spend time, money, effort with his children (and now grandchildren). Yes. There is internal conflict.
JESUS had similar conflicts, and JESUS is the fullness of the Godhead bodily. JESUS had problems, too. He said: John 12:27, Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? (KJV)
Since God had SOUL trouble, it is no wonder that we have SOUL trouble, too.
There is a difference between the times that JESUS was troubled in His soul and the times when He was troubled in His spirit. We are back to the difference between soul and spirit, again.
John 13:21, When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. (KJV)
That was SPIRIT trouble, not SOUL trouble.
Matthew 26:38-39, Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. (KJV)
That was SOUL trouble, not SPIRIT trouble.
Yes. There was a time when there was internal conflict within the Godhead, the same way that there are times in our own lives when we have conflict within ourselves.
To me, it is a comfort to know that JESUS also suffered internal conflict. That indicates to me that there is nothing wrong with having internal conflict.
After listening to some preachers, I got the erroneous idea that internal conflict was a sign of hidden sin or of unnatural desire. Now, I can see that it is a natural part of becoming perfect.
The solution to internal conflict lies in the determination of the highest order. Lack of peace is evident when we opt for a solution that meets the needs of a lower order. Happiness comes when we choose the will of the highest order, in spite of our own desire. Peace comes when our own desire is in perfect harmony with the will of the Highest order.
EL ELYON is the Most High God. Things go better with EL ELYON.
THE HIGHEST NAME Now, we are ready for the most difficult lesson of all the Bible lessons that I teach. You must read it all to get the setting and the meaning.
First, note that JESUS is the Son of the Most High God EL ELYON.
Second, note that the demons, speaking through the Gadarine demoniac adjured JESUS.
Third, note that the demons adjured JESUS in the Name of God, ELOHIM.
Now, read the scripture, and afterward there will be more to say.
Mark 5:1-20, And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of EL ELYON (the Most High God)? I adjure thee by ELOHIM (God), that thou torment me not. 8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. 18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the LORD hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Remember, God created all things, even evil, the devil, Satan, and demons. Either the Bible said it, or it didn’t. See YAHWEH MADE THE LAW, Chapter 13. What makes truth? What you have been taught and believe, or what the Bible says?
Remember, the demons adjured JESUS in the name of their creator God ELOHIM.
What’s adjure?
To adjure is to set a fence, a border, a limit upon. The demons told JESUS to shut up, keep quiet, keep out of their business. God ELOHIM had created them to do a job of destroying the man, and they were doing a good job of it.
Can you believe it? Those nervy demons told JESUS to shut up (adjure), in the Name of God ELOHIM. The demons knew they had been created by ELOHIM, and consequently, their God was ELOHIM.
Remember, JESUS came in the name and the energy of His Father EL ELYON, the Most High God.
JESUS ordered them to leave in the name of His Father, the Most High God EL ELYON. There is none higher.
Yes. There is a hierarchy among the name/natures of the Godhead. The Most High God is EL ELYON. The demons knew it.
So they left.
At the end of this age, believers/receivers will pray in the name/nature of EL ELYON, like JESUS did. Destructive forces and other things that were created by ELOHIM will respond to a higher name/nature of God, EL ELYON.
CREATION IS CHANGING Yes. All things (constructive and destructive) have been created by ELOHIM, but all things will eventually respond to the commands of the Most High God EL ELYON. Stick around; a good change is coming.
The study of the Names of God, in the Godhead, has produced an indication of a hierarchy within the various name/natures of God. That idea is very complicated, and complex, and confounded in our occidental minds. It won’t make any sense until a confused person reflects on the fact that each person has different personalities that come forth according to the situation, at the time. It works the same in the Godhead. Sometimes I am Reverend Ebaugh, sometimes I am Mister Ebaugh, sometimes David, and sometimes Daddy. My name changes, and my actions change. I’m only one man, but I surely do act differently at different times.
Yes. There is only one God, but He surely does act differently at different times. God’s name changes and His actions change.
James 1:17, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (KJV)
That says God doesn’t change. What’s going on? Does He or doesn’t He change?
God doesn’t change. But His method of dealing with us changes as we mature.

If you are going to establish anything in the physical realm, like a city or a manufacturing plant, then it has to be through the power of EL ELYON. Because EL ELYON is interested in the physical earth.
Let's say it another way. Architects, Civil Engineers, Politicians, Farmers, etc., all need the God consciousness of EL ELYON in order to be successful in establishing temporal works.
SECRET MYSTERY When we remember that our secret places have to do with our reproductive organs then this Psalm may begin to make sense. The secret place of ELYON is the shadowy place (the reproductive place) of SHADDAI.
Psalm 91:1, He that dwelleth in the secret place of ELYON (the Most High) shall abide under the shadow of SHADDAI (the Almighty). (KJV)
That's the way Strong says it should be translated as far as the Hebrew Names of God are concerned. The name/nature SHADDAI is the large breasted, feminine form of God. Remember, the gender of the word SHADDAI is feminine. The gender of the word YAHWEH is masculine. And the gender of the word ELOHIM is androgynous.
Thus, when the masculine YAHWEH and the feminine SHADDAI come together in concert, the new name is ELOHIM, the androgynous creator. Since EL ELYON is the name/nature of the Most High God it also follows that all of the attributes of the Godhead are in EL ELYON.
EL ELYON IS ANYTHING HE WANTS TO BE That's so important I think that I should say it another way. Whereas all of the attributes of YAHWEH and EL SHADDAI are in ELOHIM when they operate in concert, it also follows that all of the attributes of the Godhead are in EL ELYON, the Most High God at any time that He wants to exhibit them. (Remember, the gender of the word EL ELYON is also androgynous.)
Remember that the Son of EL ELYON is JESUS CHRIST of whom it is said: Colossians 2:9-10, For in him (CHRIST) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power (KJV)
We conclude then, that the Father, EL ELYON, has transferred all of the powers of His Godhead to His Son JESUS CHRIST. And that's not the end of the subject.
As we believers/receivers move and live in JESUS CHRIST, the fullness of the Godhead causes us to become complete, also. That means that we will embrace and operate in every attribute of the names/natures of God, as becomes appropriate or necessary at the time. Right now our religious groups and societies have mainly taught us to exhibit the attributes of the name/nature of YAHWEH. As we mature we will embrace more of the natures of the whole Godhead. And I should add, we will not embrace YAHWEH any less -- we will expand to be able to embrace the other natures more.
A SECRET MYSTERY A secret is a mystery. Paul wrote about a great mystery. He had just said, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery."
Ephesians 5:32, This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (KJV)
This secret mystery is referred to in the 91st Psalm.
Psalm 91:1, He that dwelleth in the secret place of ELYON (the Most High) shall abide under the shadow of SHADDAI (the Almighty). (the large breasted feminine form of GOD). (KJV)
This same secret mystery was referred to by our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST when He said: John 17:22-23 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (KJV)
First the natural, then the spiritual, in understanding. This is a discussion of how to become perfect, or become one.
As Adam knew Eve and they became one flesh, so the parallels of love and mating in the natural realm become a guide to the secret mystery of CHRIST in the church. This is referred to as a secret mystery because it is only for the very mature (spiritually mature) people who can keep their mind out of the gutter.
Paul referred to this secret mystery again.
Colossians 1:26-27, Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (KJV)
Thus, when the masculine anointing (which is the CHRIST) makes entry into the church then naturally there is a hope that some new life will be produced. In other words, the natural result of the love process is the hope of a pregnancy. The thing produced by the secret mystery is the hope of glory. The baby is the glory.
The last generation of Christians in this age will enter into EL ELYON (the Most High God) through SHADDAI (the large breasted one) and produce the glory. As a result, they will enter into immortality. They will overcome the last enemy which is death.
A serious study of EL ELYON, MOST HIGH GOD Chapter 22, must also include a study of · EL ELYON, Chapter 21, and · KNOWING FROM EL ELYON Chapter 23, and · EL ELYON, MOST HIGH GOD IN THE NEW TESTAMENT Chapter 24, and · EL ELYON, THEN AND NOW Chapter 25, and · MELCHISEDEC ORDER Chapter 26, because there is a lot to learn about EL ELYON.
Some subjects in those chapters have been reviewed and/or abbreviated for this chapter. Some have not. Some subjects in this chapter are new and unique. The index should be a big help.
REFUGE OR HABITATION? The word habitation has to do with a place for us to live, something to live in. Habitation ties in with EL ELYON, the possessor of heaven and earth. Our God EL ELYON possesses all habitations. When a person needs a house, then a God consciousness of EL ELYON is indicated. When that same person needs money to pay for the utilities, then a God consciousness of EL SHADDAI (the provider) is indicated. But if a legal fight develops over the ownership or possession of the house, then a God consciousness of YAHWEH is indicated.
Psalm 91:9, Because thou hast made YAHWEH (the LORD), which is my refuge, even ELYON (the Most High), thy habitation (KJV)
The masculine, warring,
fighting, winning YAHWEH, God of
We should note that there is a difference between a refuge and a habitation. A refuge indicates something temporary and a place to hide from trouble. A habitation indicates a permanent dwelling. Would you rather live in a refuge or a habitation? Now note that a refuge is connected with the name/nature YAHWEH and a habitation is connected with the name/nature EL ELYON. Take your pick.
NO PROBLEMS The Psalmist continued with the thought that the angels of EL ELYON will protect the person from all types of danger when their habitation is in ELYON.
Psalm 91:9-12, Because thou hast made YAHWEH (the LORD), which is my refuge, even ELYON (the Most High), thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. (KJV)
When ELYON is our habitation, then we can expect these benefits. This indicates that a family can expect to be free from any plague when they operate in the God consciousness of EL ELYON, which is love, light, mercy, forgiveness, and life.
Conversely, when a family operates in the God consciousness of YAHWEH, which is law, judgment, condemnation, punishment, and death, then the question arises as to whether they should or may claim that promise of deliverance from any plague. They may or may not be delivered.
We should also note that this is the scripture that was quoted by the devil on the occasion of the temptation of JESUS.
THE DEVIL TEMPTED JESUS Since this scripture was used by the devil to tempt our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, then it follows that we should look at it carefully. Perhaps we might be tempted the same way, someday.
Matthew 4:5-7, Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of ELYON (God), cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy God. (KJV)
The question of our relationship to our God EL ELYON comes first. The insolent question starts, "If you be the Son of ELYON," as though there was some question about it.
Psalm 82:6, I have said, Ye are ELOHIM (gods); and all of you are children of ELYON (the most High. (KJV)
JESUS must have believed that because He quoted the preceding passage, "Ye are ELOHIM (Gods)." This whole concept must have been pretty important to both JESUS and to the devil.
Perhaps the people who are predestined to be a part of the last generation that will overcome the last enemy, death, will have to deal with that scripture and the idea that we are Gods.
Are you -- or are you not, a Son of EL ELYON?
If you say, "Yes, the scriptures say that I am, so that settles it, I believe that I am,” then you will probably be tempted by a test of that relationship.
TEMPT GOD? When JESUS said, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God,” I believe He was saying that we should never think that our relationship with our EL ELYON is sufficient of itself, to deliver us from dumb situations we put ourselves into. In other words, we should expect our God EL ELYON to deliver us from natural calamity and/or ugly situations of life forced upon us by other members of our society. We can even expect our EL ELYON to relieve us from some of the dumb situations we get ourselves into, due to our own immaturity and/or stupidity.
But the pattern suggests to me that we must never test our relationship with EL ELYON by purposefully placing ourselves in a place of jeopardy. For instance, the man who mortgages his house to get enough money to buy his wife a mink coat, expecting EL ELYON to provide the way for him to make the payments -- is probably not much different from the man who shows his faith in EL ELYON by walking across a busy street, blindfolded.
There is a big question in my own mind about the wisdom of refusing help from someone in order to show your faith in God. That looks pretty close to tempting God to me.
It is one thing to trust our God for deliverance from the forces of evil that we must encounter as we pass through life -- but it is an entirely different matter to pray to our God to deliver us from something, and then to jump right into it.
FOREVER The scriptures connect the idea of "forever more" with EL ELYON. For instance, MELCHISEDEC was the priest of EL ELYON. “And it was said of him that he had no beginning or ending.” (Heb. 7:3).
Hebrews 7:3, Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. (KJV)
Psalm 92:8, But thou, YAHWEH (LORD), EL ELYON (art Most High) for evermore. (KJV)
We also know that JESUS' Father was EL ELYON.
Luke 1:32, He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of ELYON (the Highest): and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (KJV)
Luke 1:35, And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of ELYON (the Highest) shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (KJV)
ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC JESUS became a high priest after the order of MELCHISEDEC.
Hebrews 6:20, Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of MELCHISEDEC. (KJV)
FOREVER Notice that another word was in the scripture. JESUS was made a high priest "forever" after the order of MELCHISEDEC. The idea of "forever" is connected with EL ELYON, through His priest MELCHISEDEC.
You might be pleased to discover how many times the idea of "forever" is connected to our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST in the famous MELCHISEDEC passages of Hebrews 6:20, 7:3, 7:8, 7:16, 7:21, 7:23, 7:24, 7:25, and 7:28.
CONDEMN THE COUNSEL OF EL ELYON Those in darkness and in the shadow of death, condemn the counsel or advice of EL ELYON. If you are in darkness or in shadow of death you are going to condemn EL ELYON. You are going to condemn His counsel, knowledge, and nature because you are ready to die.
Psalm 107:11, Because they rebelled against the words of EL (God), and contemned the counsel of EL ELYON (the Most High) (KJV)
Conversely, every reference to those who overcome the last enemy which is death -- is always a reference to paying attention to the counsel of EL ELYON. Having knowledge of EL ELYON brings you into life and to refuse the counsel of EL ELYON will bring you death. I believe that those people who pattern their lives after the counsel of EL ELYON do have the potential of overcoming the last enemy which is death. I believe that those Christians who follow the counsel of YAHWEH will die a physical death here on this earth and will then go to heaven.
There will be people who hear this message and condemn the counsel of EL ELYON. Who are they? They are some Jews, some Roman Catholics, some Bible believing Protestants who are molding their own lives (and the lives of others) after the counsel of their idea or concept of their God YAHWEH. Naturally, there may be some agnostics or atheists also. But we’re not interested in their opinion. By the way, we cannot promise immortality to those who follow EL ELYON. But we can say that immortality is only for those who do follow the concepts of EL ELYON.
Those who follow the concepts of YAHWEH will go the way of all flesh. What is their destiny? A heavenly reward! They will have to die and go to heaven. To refuse EL ELYON brings death. To embrace EL ELYON brings life.
WHO IS LUCIFER? Many people mistakenly think that the Bible says Lucifer is Satan or the devil. Not so! There is no scripture to support that idea.
First, we should address ourselves to the question: who is Lucifer?
Isaiah 14:14, I (Lucifer) will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the ELYON (Most High). (KJV)
Those people who hold to the erroneous idea that Lucifer is Satan should study the margin note in the AMPLIFIED OLD TESTAMENT concerning Isaiah 14:14. Quote, "Light bringer” or “Shining one” was originally translated Lucifer, but because of the association of that name with Satan it is now not used. Conscientious students agree that the application of the name Lucifer to Satan, in spite of the long and confident teaching to that effect is completely erroneous. Nowhere in the Bible is Satan called “Lucifer.” (Amplified. Isaiah 14, page 503).
If this present challenge of tradition is too much for you now, just put this on the shelf for a while. If you are still convinced that Lucifer is Satan, then ask yourself why?
Our own study points to the belief that the "spirit of Lucifer” is the same as the "spirit of Adam." Several authors have written booklets on the subject of Lucifer, to show that it is impossible for Lucifer to be Satan or the devil. They all adequately show that it is very possible that Lucifer, meaning "Lightbringer" or "Daystar," or "Firststar," was really Adam.
John 8:44, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)
Lucifer was not a liar or a murder from the beginning. The devil was.
I WILL BE LIKE EL ELYON Returning to Isaiah 14:14: Isaiah 14:14, I (Lucifer) will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the ELYON (Most High). (KJV)
Lucifer said, “I will be like ELYON (the Most High).” That does refer to Adam because Adam certainly did want to be like God.
Genesis 3:5, For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (KJV)
I cannot find any scripture that indicates that the devil wanted to be like God. That idea comes from tradition not the Bible.
Whenever our God EL ELYON Himself makes us like Gods (Psa. 82:6), then we are on firm ground.
Psalm 82:6, I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (KJV)
When we ourselves try to make ourselves like Gods, then we look like the fools that we presently are.
Remember this: Galatians 4:1-2, Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. (KJV)
There is no need to try to manifest yourself. You can't. The Father EL ELYON will manifest you to the world as His child at the time that He selects, not your timing.
IT DOESN’T FIT The King James Translators, along with a large number of other translators, have chosen to render these passages in Lamentations in a manner that is inconsistent with very many other passages in the Bible. They gave an entirely different concept of our God ELYON.
Lamentations 3:31-38, For YAHWEH (the LORD) will not cast off for ever: 32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. 33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. 34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, 35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of ELYON (the Most High), 36 To subvert a man in his cause, YAHWEH (the LORD) approveth not. 37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when YAHWEH (the LORD) commandeth it not? 38 Out of the mouth of ELYON (the Most High) proceedeth not evil and good? (KJV)
First, notice that the two words for God are used, YAHWEH an ELYON. The passage was written in Hebrew to show a distinction between the two different Names of God. Remember that it was only very recently that translators began to notice the differences.
Secondly, please take note that modern scholars of Hebrew tell us (in the Five Megilloth, Five Scrolls, Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther, edited by Rev. Dr. A. Cohen, published by SONCINO PRESS, Hebrew Text and English translation of the Bible with commentary, planned for needs of Jews, helpful to all who desire a fuller knowledge of the Bible) that verses 34-36 are not easy to interpret "in relation to the context." They say, "It would probably be better, following Rashi (a Rabbi), to treat these verses as a continuation of the argument in verse 33.”
The meaning of the paragraph would be: “YAHWEH (the LORD) doth not see fit to crush men capriciously under foot, or to wrest their rights and treat them unjustly.”
And to this I heartily agree. But that presents another problem to the translators and that may be the problem to which the Hebrew scholars refer. That is verse 35.
"To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High ELYON."
Following their suggestion we would have to say, "YAHWEH (the Lord) does not see fit to crush men capriciously under foot, or to wrest their rights and treat them unjustly BEFORE THE FACE OF ELYON (THE MOST HIGH)."
No wonder they said it is not easy to interpret in relation to (the) context! It would be impossible for a Jewish scribe to come to that obvious translation. That would indicate that the characteristics of EL ELYON will not allow men to be treated capriciously, but that the characteristics of YAHWEH would. But we have amply demonstrated that is exactly the case.
GOOD AND EVIL The scriptures indicate that YAHWEH does produce both good and evil.
For instance: Isaiah 45:7, I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I YAHWEH (the LORD) do all these things. (KJV)
And also Amos 3:6: Amos 3:6, shall there be evil in a city, and YAHWEH (the LORD) hath not done it? (KJV)
And another place says: Deuteronomy 32:36-39, For YAHWEH (the LORD) shall judge his people. 37 And he shall say, 39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no ELOHIM (God) with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal. (KJV)
We now return to the subject scripture: Lamentations 3:38, Out of the mouth of ELYON (the Most High) proceedeth not evil and good? (KJV)
We have only found one translator who renders Lam. 3:38 in harmony with all the other scriptures. It should read: "Out of the mouth of ELYON (the Most High) proceedeth not evil and good."
You may have noticed that K.J.V. (and others) used a question mark at the end of the sentence. We choose a period. What's the difference? The erroneous sense of the K.J.V. is that the mouth of ELYON produces both evil and good. They accomplished this sense by using a question mark. There are no question marks in Hebrew. We believe that the sentence should end with a period. Thus, the sense is, that the mouth of ELYON does not produce both evil and good. The whole rest of the Bible provides us with scriptures that tell us that EL ELYON only produces good in every situation.
The translator who does agree
with us is Robert Young. He is the compiler of
Young's Analytical
Concordance. A few people know that he also published
his own translation of the Bible. It is called YOUNG'S LITERAL
TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE published by Baker Book House,
Young translated Lamentations 3:38 as follows:
"From the mouth of the MOST HIGH (ELYON) go not forth the evils and the good,” and we think that he did it right.
Our conclusion, based on the context and also upon all of the scriptures of the Bible that show a counter distinction between the characteristics of YAHWEH and of EL ELYON, is that indeed, YAHWEH is capable, and does produce evil and good. On the other hand, EL ELYON only produces good.
We cannot find any scripture in the whole Bible that attributes evil to ELYON except this one -- and we conclude the translators were wrong, the Hebrew was right. We think that the translation of Robert Young is right.
This demonstrates why people with a consciousness of God as YAHWEH nearly always do believe that “the end justifies the means." That adds light on the question of why the Roman Catholic Church produced the inquisition several hundred years ago. It appears that they thought that stretching people to death on the rack was O.K. because the end justified the means.
SERVANTS OF EL ELYON Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego! Also, Daniel MELCHISEDEC and JESUS! What was the destiny of all six of them? To overcome death! These three servants of EL ELYON in the furnace could not die! The king said, “You servants of EL ELYON, come forth and come hither.” Then Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came forth out of the midst of the fire. Servants of EL ELYON are delivered from death! JESUS, the Son of EL ELYON was delivered from death. Daniel was delivered from death in the lion’s den. All were servants of EL ELYON.
Daniel 3:26, Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of EL ELYON (the Most High God). (KJV)
The Bible told you that you are ELOHIMS and the children of EL ELYON (Psalm 82:6).
Psalm 82:6, I have said, Ye are ELOHIM (gods); and all of you are children of ELYON (the most High). (KJV)
When you come into an EL ELYON consciousness, then the only thing the fire can touch is your binding ropes. The only thing that can hurt you is to refuse the counsel of EL ELYON. Every reference to those who are priests or servants of EL ELYON, throughout the Bible shows that they all overcome death while they maintained the consciousness of EL ELYON.
EL ELYON RULES THE
The following story in Daniel
shows that even Nebuchadnezzer, the King of Babylon (Meads and
Persians) was aware that EL ELYON sets up the rulers of the
nations. He wasn’t Jewish, but he knew EL ELYON was boss of
everything, even the
Daniel 4:17, This matter, (Nebuchadnezzer speaking) is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that EL ELYON (the Most High) ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. (KJV)
Even the foreign King came to know that EL ELYON, the Most High God was the one who set him upon the throne.
At times after an election, I do admit that I have questioned if EL ELYON did allow the selection of the right man -- because my man lost. But hindsight has always shown that for one reason or another, EL ELYON was in control and He sat His choice in the chair of authority. I conclude that since I don't know the whole script -- I can't be the casting director for the actors.
THE PROPHESY If I were in politics, I would try to adapt and adjust my own consciousness so that I would always offer love, mercy, and forgiveness -- like EL ELYON.
Daniel 4:24-25, This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of EL ELYON (the Most High), which is come upon my lord the king: 25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that EL ELYON (the Most High) ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. (KJV)
Daniel 17 said EL ELYON gave the kingdom to Nebuchadnezzer and in verse 24-25 it said EL ELYON took it away.
EL ELYON is in charge
of the ballot box. It was EL ELYON who took the Kingdom

THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY The scriptures in the book of Daniel reconfirm the idea that EL ELYON appoints the leaders of the nations.
Daniel 5:21, And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that EL ELYON (the Most High God) ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will. (KJV)
Daniel 4:34, And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed EL ELYON (the Most High), and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: (KJV)
He received his understanding back. When he knew the knowledge of EL ELYON, his kingdom was restored.
Also, when a person receives a knowing of EL ELYON then the concept of forever begins to be an issue. Remember that MELCHISEDEC had no ending. He was priest of EL ELYON, forever. Remember that JESUS became a priest forever (Hebrew 7:21).
Remember that when Balaam referred to the knowledge (and/or understanding) he received, he said it came from EL ELYON (Num. 24:16).
GLORY AND HONOUR King Nebuchadnezzar received glory and honour. (Dan. 5:18 below) But, we are told to seek glory, and honour, and a third thing. (Rom. 2:7). We must also seek immortality.
Daniel 5:18, (Daniel speaking) O thou king, EL ELYON (the Most High God) gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour: (KJV)
Romans 2:7, To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: (KJV)
If you are going to seek those three -- 1.) glory, 2.) honor, and 3.) immortality, then remember that they will all come through EL ELYON. Glory is for the body. Honor is for the body. Immortality is for the body. They are all through EL ELYON.
Physical things are gifts from EL ELYON. That is because EL ELYON is God of heaven, and also EL ELYON is God of the physical temporal earth.
TAKE AND POSSESS FOREVER Forever and ever is a long, long time. A person would have to become immortal to do that. Those immortal people will have a consciousness of God as EL ELYON. They are called saints of EL ELYON.
Daniel 7:18 , But the saints of EL ELYON (the Most High) shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. (KJV)
This indicates that the kings and priests (Revelation 5:10) who will rule and reign forever are going to have a God consciousness of EL ELYON.
Revelation 5:10, And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (KJV)
Kings and priests of EL ELYON will grant love, mercy, and forgiveness. They will not make decisions based on law, judgment, condemnation, punishment, and death. They will bring love, light, forgiveness, freedom, and life. They will be priests of EL ELYON, forever.
SAINTS POSSESSED THE KINGDOM Who are the saints of EL ELYON? “Ye are ELOHIM, and the sons (children) of EL ELYON.” We believe that you have the chance to become a saint of EL ELYON. The book of Hebrews indicates that you have a chance to become a priest of EL ELYON, as JESUS did, by overcoming the last enemy, death. These promises in the book of Daniel are for that last generation of Christians who shall overcome the last enemy, death.
Daniel 7:22, Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of EL ELYON (the Most High); and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. (KJV)
The judgment they shall offer in every situation is love, light, forgiveness, freedom, and life. With these qualities, they shall reign forever.
NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT Saints of EL ELYON will be worn out for 3 1/2 periods of time. It should be mentioned that 3 1/2 periods of time appears very often in the books of prophecy in the Bible.
Daniel 7:25, And he (the 11th horn that shall subdue 3 kings) shall speak great words against EL ELYON (the Most High), and shall wear out the saints of EL ELYON (the Most High), and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (KJV)
Bible students interpret the section to be 3 1/2 units of time (time and times and the dividing of time).
This indicates that it is the will of EL ELYON, the Most High God, that all of His own saints will be under the control of ungodly governments for 3 1/2 periods of time. We do wish that we knew what those periods of time represent. Some students think that those periods of time are years. Others think they are centuries. Others think that they are multiples of Bible numbers like 7, or 12, or 19, or 21, or the like. There are Bible patterns that would support each idea. Take your choice.
A NEW RELIGION I believe that the next move of God is going to set up a new religion. The new religion will actually take over the kingdoms of this earth. All dominions will serve the MELCHISEDEC Priesthood Order under EL ELYON.
Daniel 7:27, And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of EL ELYON (the Most High), whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. (KJV)
As you can readily see, this teaching is threatening to the political leaders of today's governments of the world. It is also threatening to the religious leaders. I don't expect either group to help spread this message. All dominions, all societies, all governments, all corporate and private industry will serve EL ELYON. We will stop wars. We will operate in love -- meeting peoples needs. Our concept of God is going to change and the whole world is going to come into this concept.
We will apply the spirit of the laws of YAHWEH only to ourselves. We will apply the spirit of the grace message of JESUS to everyone else.
The Bible prophesies that this new religion, made up of the saints of EL ELYON, shall be victorious over every obstacle.
That's the kind of prophecy I like.
DANIEL LIVED IN Now that we have come to the end of the book of Daniel I would like to make a general observation. Perhaps you noticed that the great Hebrew prophet Daniel, along with all the other God fearing Hebrews, did worship EL ELYON. Maybe you noticed that they did not worship YAHWEH. They broke YAHWEH's laws. Some people ask, “How did they break the laws of God.” By not keeping the sacrifices. By not keeping the feasts, etc. Why didn’t they keep YAHWEH’s laws?
They were in captivity to
another nation (
Their consciousness of God changed from YAHWEH, because circumstances of life in slavery to a foreign government made it impossible to please YAHWEH. Their new God consciousness was EL ELYON. Even in captivity, they could please EL ELYON.
Many modern people have felt
condemned because the circumstances in their life prevented then
from doing the things that the church told them to do. It was
probably like that back in
We see here that the highest order of life, given by the Most High God, EL ELYON, takes the circumstances of life over which we have no control into account, and then gives us a higher order of law, based on love.
I don't think Daniel felt condemned for not obeying YAHWEH. Do you?
BIG GOOF UPS
Moving on from Daniel, we now
observe EL ELYON in the prophetic book of Hosea. The
prophecy says that

WALK THE WALK AND TALK THE TALK We were called to a consciousness of EL ELYON, the Most High God, by the examples and teachings of love, light, forgiveness, freedom, and life that JESUS gave us.
Hosea 11:7, And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to EL ELYON (the Most High), none at all would exalt him. (KJV)
Perhaps our own religious community may still be feeling the effects of the prophecy of Hosea. We have erroneously elected to trust in governments of nations. We have erroneously elected to conduct our church lives by the consciousness of YAHWEH with law, judgment, condemnation, punishment, and death. We are a bunch of religious goof-ups. There are indications that the believers/receivers will return to EL ELYON. And soon, we hope.
DOCTOR WELLMAN, CALL SURGERY If you need surgery, pray to YAHWEH. The surgeon's scalpel is the destroyer, the remover. A surgeon never cured anybody, never healed anybody. They always remove the offense, then YAHWEH brings the healing.
YAHWEH said, Deuteronomy 32:39, I wound, and I heal. (KJV)
A student asked if it would be proper to pray to EL ELYON to keep a person from having to go through surgery. Given my present understanding, I would try every form of prayer I know. I would do anything I could to avoid surgery. Nonetheless, if I still hurt after doing all the things I knew to do, I would submit to surgery because I have studied enough about the two different forms of healing, i.e., dunamis and therapeuo. I know that therapeuo (surgery) is a God given gift. If I got into that shape I would first ask YAHWEH to please heal me.
PRONOUNCE RIGHT? Some students seem to be afraid that they will have to pronounce these words. Let me tell you something. You don't have to pronounce these words. There is no magic in pronouncing. It is the name/nature that counts. I want you to know the name/nature of the God of heaven and earth. If you can say His name EL ELYON, that’s good. If you can’t, that’s O.K. I don't pronounce it exactly right. The reason for that is, I am pronouncing it the transliterated way with English letters.

BALAAM KNEW THREE NAMES
Balaam was hired to curse
Numbers 24:16, He hath said, which heard the words of EL (God), and knew the knowledge of ELYON (the Most High), which saw the vision of SHADDAI (the Almighty), falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: (KJV)
Balaam used three different Hebrew words for our one God.
1. EL
2. ELYON
3. SHADDAI
One of the first logical questions we could ask is, "Where is YAHWEH?" When Balaam listed his knowledge of the Names of God, why did he not include YAHWEH?
The answer is poignant, sharp, piercing, keen, very moving, incisive, penetrating, and striking.
Balaam never knew YAHWEH!
YAHWEH MISSING
God introduced Himself
with a new name/nature to Moses while He was leading the
people of
It was necessary to have a new consciousness of our God, so God introduced a new name/nature, YAHWEH. Moses’ new consciousness of our God had to change to a God of might, power, victory, hosts, armies, organization, law, judgment, condemnation, punishment, death. We received a new consciousness of the masculine name/nature of our God YAHWEH.
Remember that all of this
occurred while the nation of
Lets review the scripture for a moment.
Exodus 6:1-3, Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. 2 And ELOHIM (God) spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am YAHWEH (the LORD) 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of EL SHADDAI (God Almighty), but by my name YAHWEH (JEHOVAH) was I not known to them. (KJV)
The plain sense of the passage precludes the use of the word YAHWEH before that event. Unfortunately, the Jewish scribes did insert the word YAHWEH into Bible passages that do precede that event, but modern scholarship is identifying those corruptions.
Balaam never knew YAHWEH!
That's why I said the answer was poignant.
Now let’s see if we can discover some different perceptions of the different name/natures of our God, that were held by Balaam.
Balaam said that you hear words from EL.
You know knowledge from EL ELYON.
You have visions (dreams) from EL SHADDAI.
In other words, Balaam was listing the methods of communication that were used by the various name/natures of our God. To an amazing extent, the whole Bible follows this pattern. It is not that our God is limited to this pattern. He can do anything He wants, but He generally follows the pattern to a surprising degree.
THREE WAYS GOD COMMUNICATES WITH US Balaam did not have knowledge of the Most High (EL ELYON); he received knowledge from the Most High (EL ELYON), like the NIV says.
Balaam did not receive visions of the Almighty (EL SHADDAI); he received visions from the Almighty (EL SHADDAI), as the NIV says.
KING JAMES VERSION Numbers 24:16, He hath said, which heard the words of EL (God), and knew the knowledge of EL ELYON (the Most High), which saw the vision of EL SHADDAI (the Almighty), falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: (KJV)
NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION Numbers 24:16, the oracle of one who hears the words of EL (God), who has knowledge from EL ELYON (the Most High), who sees a vision from EL SHADDAI (the Almighty), who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened: (NIV)
The NIV quoted above seems to reflect the meaning of the passage better than the KJV. Whereas the KJV uses the word “of” to connect the name/nature of God with an attribute, the NIV uses the word “from” to do the same. The NIV makes more sense.
Hear EL(OHIM). You hear the words of EL.
We must insert a fact here. Most scholars say that the word EL can stand alone as a Name of God. It is also used as an abbreviation for the various other Names of God. Most often it stands for ELOHIM, the creator God. We believe it.
1.) We hear the voice of EL(OHIM).
2.) Knowing about spiritual and temporal things comes from EL ELYON.
3.) Visions and dreams come to us from EL SHADDAI.
GOD SPEAKS THE WORD Concerning the fact that we hear from EL(OHIM), remember that ELOHIM spoke words to create things.
Genesis 1:3, And ELOHIM (God) said, Let there be light: and there was light. (KJV)
John 1:1-3, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (KJV)
When you study the Word of God and/or when you hear an articulate Word from our God in your ear (like a prophet sometimes does) then you are moving in the consciousness of ELOHIM, the creator. The instructions that you receive are usually creative.
KNOWLEDGE IS FROM EL ELYON Balaam indicated that he knew the difference between the ways the different name/natures of God communicate with us when he said he knew the knowledge from EL ELYON. Did you ever have a knowing? You knew that you knew, but you could not explain how you knew. When that knowing is genuinely from the Holy Spirit (and not just your own soul wishing) then that knowing is from EL ELYON, the possessor of heaven and earth, the Most High God.
King Nebuchadnezzer seemed to understand that knowing comes from EL ELYON, the Most High God. He said: Daniel 4:34, mine understanding (knowing) returned unto me, and I blessed ELYON (the Most High). (KJV)
Some people say that the Most High method of direction is an inner knowing.
Others say to follow your inner peace.
I believe that they are all saying very nearly the same thing.
Personally, I would rather be led by an inner knowing of right or wrong from EL ELYON by the Holy Spirit. A word from a preacher (prophet) or a dream or a vision, all have their place. I'm not saying that I reject them.
VISIONS AND DREAMS FROM EL SHADDAI There are times when the pressures of life, cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches all crowd in to confuse our minds. Often, we just don't know.
DREAMS FOR JOSEPH Can you imagine how confused Joseph, the husband of Mary must have been? I'll bet that he couldn't trust any of his thoughts. Talk about pressures of life and cares of the world -- he had them. So, look how good our God was to Joseph. Our God bypassed the mind of Joseph and communicated to him in a dream, several times. It's a good thing He did, because I don't believe that Joseph would have taken care of Mary and JESUS as he did, without the supernatural direction he received in dreams.
Matthew 1:20, But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. (KJV)
Matthew 2:13, And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the LORD appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. (KJV)
Matthew 2:19-20, But when
Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the LORD appeareth in a dream
to Joseph in

NEED DIRECTION? When you are so confused that you could scream -- you need a vision or a dream from EL SHADDAI. Our studies reveal that visions and dreams are very much the same, except as to when they occur. However, prophets are given to visions and most other people usually have dreams rather than visions.
VISIONS ARE FROM EL SHADDAI Balaam said that he received visions (and dreams) from EL SHADDAI, the loving, caring God of provision. Visions/dreams come to us like a mother's voice of warning or direction. They often direct us to do things that we normally would not do.
YAHWEH MISSING Balaam did not mention YAHWEH when he enumerated different ways God communicates with us and connected each method of communication with a specific name/nature of the Godhead. He never knew YAHWEH. Balaam couldn't talk about the Old Testament Bible, the word of God. He didn't know about the Pentateuch. He did not refer to the 613 TSAVA laws that YAHWEH gave to Moses. Balaam didn't even know the 10 commandments.
A prophet? Yes!
A prophet of
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? Q. I have never noticed that Balaam did not pray to YAHWEH. How do you explain that?

God and had supernatural powers. But he was not a prophet of

No one ever heard of YAHWEH
before that time. Balaam never heard of God as YAHWEH either.

A serious study of EL ELYON, MOST HIGH GOD IN THE NEW TESTAMENT Chapter 24, must also include a study of : · EL ELYON Chapter 21, and · EL ELYON, MOST HIGH GOD Chapter 22, and · KNOWING FROM EL ELYON Chapter 23, and · EL ELYON, THEN AND NOW Chapter 25, and · MELCHISEDEC ORDER Chapter 26, because there’s a lot to learn about EL ELYON.
Some subjects in those chapters have been reviewed and/or abbreviated for this chapter. Some have not. Some subjects in this chapter are new and unique. The index should be a big help.
NEW TESTAMENT Now we will study the references to EL ELYON that we can find in the New Testament.
It is not quite as easy to find EL ELYON in the New Testament as it was in the Old Testament. The change in language from Greek into English is one problem. EL ELYON is a Hebrew word that must transfer between three languages. That’s another problem. It was a lot easier to trace EL ELYON in the O.T. because EL ELYON only transferred between two languages, and because most of the work was already completed by competent and trusted authors and editors.
TWO OR THREE LANGUAGES? One school of thought says that Aramaic was the original language of the New Testament. That school holds that the N.T. was first translated from Aramaic into Greek and then into English. We are not taking sides in that argument, but the thought and the possibility need to be presented here for completeness. If that is right, it helps us to see another reason that so very many difficulties have crept into the translations of our Bibles.
Strong's Concordance listed all of the Old Testament references to EL ELYON, one right after the other, under headings of God, Most High and Most High God.
When the New Testament uses the words “Most High God” it is obvious that the reference is to EL ELYON. That’s not the end of our problem. In the New Testament we must observe the context to see if the words “Highest” and “Most High” refer to God or if they refer to someone else.
In every case, I found it was easy to spot the instance where “Highest” and/or “Most High” do refer to EL ELYON. It was also easy to spot the instance where “Highest” and/or “Most High” do not refer to God.
EL ELYON OR ELYON? You may have this question, “Why do you sometimes write ‘EL ELYON’ and other times write ‘ELYON’ leaving the prefix ‘EL’ off?” Because sometimes the quoted N.T. scripture refers to the Highest God or Most High God, both of which mean EL ELYON. Other times the N.T. just uses the words “Highest” or “Most High," leaving the word “God” off. That’s when we use the word “ELYON,” leaving the prefix “EL” off.
The N.T. word “God” from the Greek word “Theos” associates mostly with the O.T. Hebrew word “ELOHIM,” (creator), not with “EL ELYON” (Most High God).
POET’S LICENSE Many years ago I asked my English teacher why some poems contained words with changed, misspelled, and sometimes unfamiliar endings. She replied, "Poet’s License."
The idea was that poets can change things to make them fit. They are not bound by all the laws of English grammar. As I recall, I told her that she should grant me a “Special License” too, so I could also misspell words -- but it didn’t work.
I need to have something like "Author’s License" right now, because I have elected to present Luke first, before Matthew, Mark and John.
My reason is that Luke uses the words Most High God, (EL ELYON) in ways that show our point more directly, quickly, and easily than do the others. Matthew, Mark, and John do fit the pattern perfectly. The pattern is easier to see in Luke.
So, with your kind indulgence, I'll present the most obvious parts first.
SON OF EL ELYON (GOD) Luke 1:32, He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of ELYON (the Highest): and YAHWEH ELOHIM (the LORD God) shall give unto him the throne of his father David (KJV)
WHOSE SON?
Nowhere can we find that
JESUS was the Son of YAHWEH, the God of
Later we will make much of this distinction because it answers the question of why the religious Jews acted one way, and why JESUS acted in an opposite way.
Returning our attention to Luke 1:32 above. If EL ELYON the Most High God (rather than ELOHIM the Creator God) would have given the throne to JESUS, then the patterns would indicate that JESUS should have received a physical, temporal, earthly kingdom. He would have received a kingdom like EL ELYON gave to the Kings in Daniel, and like EL ELYON gave the temporal things to Abraham. We know that JESUS did not receive an earthly kingdom. Here we notice that the throne was not given to JESUS by EL ELYON; it was given by ELOHIM. JESUS told us that ELOHIM was a spirit.
John 4:24, ELOHIM (God) is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit. (KJV)
So JESUS, at that time, received a spiritual ELOHIM type of kingdom, not a physical EL ELYON type of kingdom.
Our LORD and Savior JESUS
CHRIST is the Son of EL ELYON, the God of all
nations, not just
JESUS’ Father is EL ELYON, the possessor of earth. JESUS is for every person in the earth. His message bridges from spirit to flesh (earth).
THE VIRGIN MARY RECEIVED DUNAMIS (DYNAMITE) POWER FROM EL ELYON Luke 1:35, And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of ELYON (the Highest) shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of ELOHIM (God). (KJV)
Procreation in the physical realm was through the (dunamis) power of EL ELYON.
Copious notes are in Chapter 14, YAHWEH FAMILY on the fact that EL ELYON is the Father of JESUS, not YAHWEH. Check it out.
JOHN THE BAPTIST PROPHET OF BOTH In Luke 1:76 John the Baptist was referred to as the prophet of EL ELYON.
Luke 1:76, And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of ELYON (the Highest): for thou shalt go before the face of the LORD to prepare his ways; (KJV)
John's relationship to his cousin JESUS was very confusing. At one time John said concerning JESUS, "Behold the lamb of God!" A testimony like that could only have come from the concept of God as EL ELYON (the Most High God). ELYON gave that testimony to John the Baptist.
However, later on things changed. John must have overheard a lot of talk about JESUS breaking the laws of YAHWEH. Also, John knew that JESUS did eat with publicans and sinners. JESUS was known as a wine bibler and a friend of sinners. Those facts don’t sit well with people who exclusively embrace only the law of YAHWEH.
After JESUS healed the servant of the Roman centurion (not even a Jew) it probably prompted John to ask about JESUS.
Luke 7:19, And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? (KJV)
This question was asked because John's concept of God as YAHWEH was then leading John back to rules and laws. JESUS told us that John was the greatest of the O.T. prophets.
Matthew 11:11, Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (KJV)
Most O.T. prophets were prophets of YAHWEH, and John was in that group of O.T. prophets who served YAHWEH.
Now we see how the life of John the Baptist fulfilled the prophecy of Zacharias when he said: Luke 1:76, And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of ELYON (the Highest): for thou shalt go before the face of the LORD to prepare his ways (KJV)
John served two name/natures of the Godhead, YAHWEH and EL ELYON. Because of that, John was mightily confused.
DAYSPRING FROM EL ELYON Luke 1:78, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from ELYON (on High) hath visited us (KJV)
JESUS is the dayspring (also translated east) from EL ELYON.
CHILDREN OF EL ELYON Luke 6:35, But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of ELYON (the Highest): for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. (KJV)
This reminds us that EL ELYON is the God of love, mercy, and forgiveness. Is it possible for humans to be children of EL ELYON? Here is one answer.
Psalm 82:6, I have said, Ye are ELOHIM (gods); and all of you are children of ELYON (the Most High). (KJV)
Connecting the thought in Luke 1:78, about JESUS becoming the “dayspring” from EL ELYON, with the thought in Luke 6:35 about believers/receivers becoming the “children of EL ELYON” it looks like the manifest sons of God shall be a part of the “Dayspring Company.”
THE DUNAMIS POWER FROM EL ELYON IS FOR US, TOO. Luke 24:49, And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from ELYON (on High). (KJV)
The Holy Ghost came upon the souls/minds of the Apostles. Contradistinctively, the cloven tongues like as of fire from EL ELYON came upon their bodies. The dunamis power of EL ELYON was manifest by the cloven tongues like as of fire.
Acts 2:3-4, And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (KJV)
We had better repeat that the Holy Ghost always makes entry into the soul/mind of mankind. We should also note that EL ELYON mostly shows interest in the body of mankind -- even though EL ELYON is the God of heaven and also of earth.
Presently, Pentecostals show by their experiences that they know a lot about the Holy Ghost coming upon their souls/minds. Another group shall become manifest. Soon, we think. They will show by their experiences that they have moved into receiving the energy of EL ELYON in their physical bodies.
Now we shall look at a few scriptures from the other gospels that are definite N.T. references to EL ELYON of the O.T.
THE HIGHEST ORDER A very complicated, but specifically different use of the various Names of God appears in the story of the Gaderine demoniac in Mark 5:1-19.
Mark 5:7, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of EL ELYON (the Most High God)? I adjure thee by ELOHIM (God), that thou torment me not. (KJV)
Here we should note the differences between the name/natures of ELOHIM and EL ELYON.
The demon had been created by ELOHIM the creator. The God consciousness of the demon was from ELOHIM. We must realize that the demon was doing what the demon was created to do. The demon was destroying things.
WHO CREATED THE DEVIL AND EVIL? Did you know that God created the devil? And He created the demons!
God bosses the devil in Job 1:12 and 2:6.
Job 1:12, And YAHWEH (the LORD) said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of YAHWEH (the LORD). (KJV)
Job 2:6, And YAHWEH (the LORD) said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. (KJV)
YAHWEH and Satan never engaged in a fight as I was erroneously taught in Sunday School. On the contrary, Satan always did everything that YAHWEH told him to do. YAHWEH is the only name/nature of the Godhead who speaks with Satan in the O.T.
Isaiah 45:7, I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I YAHWEH (the LORD) do all these things. (KJV)
Deuteronomy 32:39, See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no ELOHIM (god) with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. (KJV)
Amos 3:6, Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and YAHWEH (the LORD) hath not done it? (KJV)
Even though the concept that the Godhead did create evil is foreign from the thinking of many Christians, it is not foreign to the Bible. Children of EL ELYON must understand the reason for creation of all things, and especially the creation of demons, in this case.
SATAN IS THE DEVIL The news about Satan isn’t all bad. In the first place JESUS overcame him.
Luke 10:18, And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (KJV)
But Satan has resumed his activities.
Satan’s purpose is to bruise our heels. Our purpose is to bruise his head.
Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV)
A head wound is more serious than a heel wound. But, why our heel? The heel is the location of your Achilles heel, Achilles tendon. That is your weak spot. Satan attacks you in your weak spot. Now that you realize that, you can put Satan’s attacks to your own good use. Satan will not attack you where you are strong. Now you can identify your weak spot.
There is no need to exercise your arm if your leg is your problem. Satan attacks with fear, or destruction of something of value, like love, health, wealth, acceptance, etc. Strengthen up the spot of the last attack. You can use Satan’s attacks as indicators of where you need to build better defenses. You will be stronger because of Satan’s attacks.
Chances are that you would just let well enough alone without Satan’s attacks. Now that you know, you’re going to turn the tables on Satan and pretty soon you’ll be like Superman (or Superwoman). Yes. Satan is your enemy. You will find that he is the enemy of your soul.
James 4:7, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV)
To resist is to apply pressure against. That’s what we call exercise. So the attack of the devil will result in your exercise, resistance. Then you’ll be stronger. After a couple more tries the devil will flee from you.
There are copious notes about the fact that the demon was created by YAHWEH. See YAHWEH MADE THE LAW, Chapter 13.
DEMON CREATED BY ELOHIM The demon was created by ELOHIM. When YAHWEH and EL SHADDAI are in concert they are ELOHIM. JESUS was the Son of EL ELYON (created by EL ELYON). The demon implied that he was doing the business that he was Fathered to do (destroying things) and he should be left alone because he was created by the Godhead. The nervy demon adjured JESUS in the name/nature of ELOHIM -- to leave him alone. Adjure means to set a limit upon. The insolent demon called upon a name/nature of the Godhead to place a limit upon JESUS. JESUS showed that the business of EL ELYON was a higher order than was the business of ELOHIM. When the command from the Highest order came from EL ELYON through JESUS CHRIST, the demons obeyed, jumped into the pigs, and drowned in the lake.

A SAILOR’S ALLEGORY When I was in the navy I noticed that when the Admiral of the fleet spoke, the Captain of the ship immediately responded. Looking at this as an allegory of the Gaderine story, the Admiral is symbolic of EL ELYON and His Son JESUS CHRIST. The ship Captain is a symbol for ELOHIM. The demons answered to the Captain of the ship, like we sailors used to work like demons on the ship. We never say the ship Captain is lower than the Admiral. The Admiral is the Most High. When the Admiral comes on board, every body “snaps to.”
We are always careful to say and to think that EL ELYON is the Most High God within the name/natures of the Godhead. We must never say or think that ELOHIM is a lesser name/nature in the Godhead than is EL ELYON. Our minds, which have been trained in Greek philosophy, have a hard time relating to the idea we should always make God bigger ‑‑ not smaller. You will eventually master that new spiritual way to think. You will learn to magnify, not to diminish.
We now move on to study the rest of the N.T.
EL ELYON IS NOT IN Acts 7:48, Howbeit ELYON (the Most High) dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, (KJV)
EL ELYON is just too big for any geographical locations.
SERVANTS OF EL ELYON Acts 16:17, The same (spirit possessed damsel) followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of EL ELYON (the Most High God), which shew unto us the way of salvation. (KJV)
The woman who said that Paul was a servant of EL ELYON was possessed by a demon. Remember that the Gaderean Demoniac was also possessed by many demons. He testified that JESUS was the Son of EL ELYON. Now, notice that in both stories, the person possessed by demons (either the man or the woman) acknowledged that the person they met was a Servant/Son of EL ELYON. What does this mean?
We can conclude that demons are quick to recognize a higher power in the Godhead. We can also interpolate that it is a lot better to have a good relationship with the name/nature of EL ELYON if you are going to try your hand at exorcism (casting out) of demons.
KEEP YOUR PANTS ON Here is a story about some guys who tried exorcism without being a Servant/Son of EL ELYON. Better study this if you want to keep your pants on.
Acts 19:13-16, Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. (KJV)
JESUS ASCENDED TO EL ELYON Ephesians 4:8, Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up (to) ELYON (on High). (KJV)
JESUS CHRIST did
not ascend to YAHWEH the God of
JESUS SITS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF EL ELYON. Hebrews 1:3, Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty ELYON (on High) (KJV)
In Heb. 1:3 and Eph. 4:8 the Bible confirms that when JESUS CHRIST went back to heaven He sat down at the right hand of His father, EL ELYON, not YAHWEH.
What did YAHWEH father? YAHWEH is the Father of Judaism, Roman Catholicism, and Protestantism. YAHWEH is the Father of head/brain (soul) things, ideologies, fanatical movements of all kinds.
PRIEST OF EL ELYON Hebrews 7:1, For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of EL ELYON (the Most High God). (KJV)
In Hebrews Chapter 7, the Bible says that JESUS CHRIST is our priest after the order of Melchisedec who is the priest of EL ELYON. JESUS became the pattern Son overcoming the last enemy which is death. JESUS CHRIST died once for every man. Therefore, we now see a pattern established. In order to achieve this goal of endless life in the physical body, it must be through a new consciousness of the name/nature of EL ELYON. New consciousness means new additional knowledge. Remember Numbers 24:16 indicated receiving knowledge is from EL ELYON. See Chapter 23, KNOWING FROM EL ELYON.
KNOWLEDGE FROM EL ELYON To know knowledge from (of) EL ELYON, like JESUS CHRIST did, like Melchisedec did, like Shadrach, Meschak and Abednego did, produces endless life in the body. Each of these stories just quoted, gave examples of overcoming death.
Numbers 24:16, He hath said, which heard the words from (of) EL (God), and knew the knowledge from (of) EL ELYON (the Most High), which saw the vision from (of) EL SHADDAI (the Almighty), falling into a trance, but having his eyes open. (KJV)
A NEW RELIGION In order to establish body salvation, God is establishing a new religion. God started harvesting the products of this new religion in 1753 A.D. when people began to first notice there was a difference in the scriptures between the Names of God: 1.) YAHWEH and 2.) EL ELYON (the Most High God).
See Chapter 12, YAHWEH, UNCONFOUNDED.
The concept of the differences has expanded over the last two centuries. We now must address the question, "Is this the time for the manifestation of the Sons of God?"
Romans 8:19, For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (KJV)

EL ELYON OR YAHWEH? According to Colossians 2:9-11, all the fullness of the Godhead is seen in CHRIST.
Colossians 2:9-11, For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ (KJV)
In other words, JESUS CHRIST personified the attributes, consciousness, and concepts of all the names/natures of the Godhead, which must include YAHWEH.
We are admonished: Ephesians 4:13, Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (KJV)
Our goal is to come into the same total awareness of the Godhead that JESUS had. But we won't have that experience if we delete the name/nature of the Godhead known as YAHWEH from our consciousness.
WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM? What then could be our problem in our understanding of YAHWEH? Could it be that this negative feeling stems from being exposed to an almost exclusively YAHWEHISTIC concept of God with 613 laws given to Moses? That idea produced the foundation of most present laws, order of conduct, and denominations.
In Hebrews 7:12 we are told that with the change of the priesthood there is of necessity a change also of the law.
Hebrews 7:12, For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. (KJV)
JESUS, in His total awareness of God, didn't move in the letter of the law, as the Aaronic priesthood did, but He conducted His dealings with others by the spirit of the law, which is grace. The scripture tells us that the spirit (of the law) gives life (II Cor. 3:6).
2 Corinthians 3:6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (KJV)
JESUS was not after the order of Aaron who ministered with the laws of YAHWEH, but rather JESUS was made a priest in the order of Melchisedec whose consciousness of God was EL ELYON. (Gen. 14:18)
Genesis 14:18, And
Melchizedek king of
Hebrews 6:20, Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (KJV)
JESUS’ laws were born out of a higher level of understanding of EL ELYON. JESUS’ understanding was higher than Aaron’s understanding of God, through YAHWEH. The gospels show us that JESUS dealt with people who came to Him as individuals, meeting them at their point of need and expressing love through the offer of mercy, compassion, and another chance.
Yet, we also see JESUS often dealing very sternly with the Pharisees and Sadducees, laying all the cards on the table -- and sometimes overturning the table. So JESUS was led not by the letter of the law, but by the spirit of the law, in order to meet the person's individual need and get them back on track with God. That is grace and mercy.
In conclusion, we can see that EL ELYON, the Most High God, who encompasses all the attributes of the Godhead is still YAHWEHISTIC in that He has rules. But in the EL ELYON consciousness we see that the rules are suited to us as individuals and geared to our stage of growth and adapted to our personal problems and needs.
For instance, all people have feet, but all people don’t wear size 7 shoes. EL ELYON takes that into account and does not make general rules demanding that everyone wear the same size shoe. If the shoe fits wear it.
Is this not part of the fulfillment of the promise of the Covenant?
Hebrews 8:10-11, For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith YAHWEH (the LORD); I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a ELOHIM (God), and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know YAHWEH (the LORD): for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. (KJV)
From reading these verses we can clearly see that yes, there are laws, and they are put within our hearts. We can safely say that laws will continue to be a part of our experience in God. But the one who puts them in our hearts is not a clergyman, a denominational rule book, or even our Sunday School teacher. Hebrews 8:10-11 clearly states that God will give the laws. II Corinthians 3:3 further supports this point by stating that the Spirit of the living God does the writing.
2 Corinthians 3:3, Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ (anointing) ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. (KJV)
Both verses imply that this is a personal relationship with a personal lawgiver. It is not a corporate relationship as was the case in the days of Moses, when one set of rules was imposed on all the people.
As we grow in our consciousness of EL ELYON, we shall encounter rules -- and those rules will change as we mature. But we shall see the law fulfilled, in that we shall love our neighbor. “For we have been called unto liberty, but we shall not use that liberty for selfish desires; rather by love we shall serve one another.” (Gal. 5:13-14).

SOMETHING NEW I tried to turn my back on another fact I know because I wanted to continue with my line of thought. I did continue with the line of thought of this chapter. But the Holy Spirit compelled me to return to Hebrews 8 to point out to you another difficult translation error that has caused much confusion in Christianity. It is not in the line of thought of this chapter concerning EL ELYON in the N.T., but it must now be addressed. (This problem of deciding when and how to cover peripheral subjects occurs to nearly all speakers, preachers, and religious writers. Each of us have our own way to handle it. Here’s mine.)
Hebrews 8:10, For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the LORD; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people (KJV)
Hebrews 10:16, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the LORD, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them (KJV)
Those two verses in Hebrews don’t tell the whole truth. This following verse in Jeremiah does.
Jeremiah 31:33, But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (KJV)
What’s the trouble? The two quotes from the N.T. book of Hebrews say that our God will write His laws in our minds and hearts. But that’s an error.
The texts in Hebrews 8 and 10 are quoted from the O.T. book of Jeremiah, which says our God will write in our inward parts and our hearts. All three verses agree about writing in our hearts. We’ll look at the part where they don’t agree.
Jeremiah said our God would write in our inward parts. But Hebrews said He would write in our minds. There is a big difference between those words.
Mind is connected with brain and most people know where that is. Inward parts is Strong’s H7130, which is entrails, guts. There is a big difference. God said He would write on our guts. But the translators said He would write on our minds. The mind is where objective, inductive, rational, analytical, reckoning, thinking takes place. The gut is where subjective, deductive, spiritual, dividing thinking takes place.
Somehow the idea of God writing on our guts got changed to God writing on our minds. The N.T. Greek clearly says that God will write on our minds, not guts. So the translation error had to happen sometime before the book of Hebrews was written. Someday we’ll know.
I don’t think our God is pleased when He says gut and translators say mind. If God wanted to say mind, He would say mind. When He wants to say gut, He says gut. I don’t think God likes the change, and I don’t either. Why? Because spiritual people must learn to stop thinking with our minds and start thinking with our guts.
There is a lot more to the subject of how spiritual Christians should think. This may require a new book. We’ll see.
A serious study of EL ELYON, THEN AND NOW Chapter 25, must also include a study of · EL ELYON Chapter 21, and · EL ELYON, MOST HIGH GOD Chapter 22, and · KNOWING FROM EL ELYON Chapter 23, and · EL ELYON, MOST HIGH GOD IN THE NEW TESTAMENT Chapter 24, and · MELCHISEDEC ORDER Chapter 26, because there’s a lot to learn about EL ELYON.
Some subjects in those chapters have been reviewed and/or abbreviated for this chapter. Some have not. Some subjects in this chapter are new and unique. The index should be a big help.
OUR CONCEPT OF GOD CHANGES Presently much attention is given to our "roots," our beginnings, our heritage, and the part they played in making us what we are. Let's travel in time to the "roots" of our Judeo/Christian religion. We will have a better understanding of the whole character of Christendom today as we notice these three things:
1. When EL ELYON was manifested,
2. How the name/nature of EL ELYON affected His people,
3. Why His people vacillated between the name/natures of EL ELYON and YAHWEH.
YAHWEH OR EL ELYON NOW? Many Christians who used to defend their position of theology by attacking other Christians with the laws of YAHWEH are now beginning to abandon the law and offer the grace and mercy of EL ELYON. God is saying in the present hour, "Choose you this day whom you will serve." We will attempt to show why we prefer the name/nature of EL ELYON for most situations.
TIME LINE We have included a time line for your use in order to better appreciate the changes in the name/nature of God in relation to the time frame in which they occurred. The major events are given a code letter which will aid you to find and relate this text with the event on the time line. When it is practical, the code letter appears at the first of the text. The same code letter appears at the first of the appropriate entry on the time line.
You may easily relate the timing of the event of your interest to the timing of the name/nature of God that occurred just before and just after.

"JOSEPH AND THE" INFANT NATION OF ISRAEL Joseph provided food to others because of his supernatural gifts and because of the wisdom and knowledge he gained through his concept of the God he knew, EL SHADDAI the provider/nourisher. Page 322, time . In other words, Joseph's concept of God as a provider/nourisher caused him to follow the EL SHADDAI pattern and provide for, and nourish the whole world.

"WHO DO YOU NEED" ? When a mother is needed, EL SHADDAI is there . When a father is needed for development, YAHWEH is there. There are several other stages and finally when full development approaches, there comes the understanding and implementation of the complete, multi-faceted manifestation of EL ELYON. For example, EL ELYON was introduced to Abraham (Genesis 14) in the story of his victory in battle and consequential reward from Melchisedec. Page 322, time . Abraham was returning from the battle of the kings" where he had been victorious. In verses 18-20 we see Melchisedec introduced as priest of EL ELYON (the Most High God). However, according to the purposes and plans of God, Abraham's personal concept of God continued to be that of EL SHADDAI.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of EL ELYON (the Most High God" ), possessor of heaven and earth XE "possessor of heaven and earth" :
